Details
Moving a parrot, python, rabbit or tortoise across a border is a paperwork project with a living animal at the end of it. Exotic Pets on the Move is a 19-page compliance field guide that turns it into a checklist with dates: permits, paperwork and packing for pets that aren't cats or dogs.
Inside: the four gates every trip has to pass (species legality, animal health, the carrier and the border), a 6-month countdown working back from departure, which agency decides what in the US, Canada, the EU, the UK and Australia/NZ, CITES explained on one page, a species cheat sheet covering 20 common exotics, flying in cabin vs. cargo, carrier and packing rules, the vet visit and health certificate, crossing by road, country snapshots, the full paperwork stack, a travel-day plan, red flags and scams, troubleshooting, official sources, a printable trip planner and a cut-out pocket card. Checked October 2026. A map, not legal advice: every page tells you which official source to confirm with.
